Early
Jewelry Environmental Policy
At Early Jewelry, we look to nature’s cycles for inspiration
— both in the jewelry designs and in the daily activities
at the workshop. We focus on recycling and purchasing recycled
materials, minimizing waste, and supporting local resources
and companies that think the way we do. What are some specific
ways we do this?
- Using natural materials, such as wood and leather
- Recycling old jewelry and cast-outs into new jewelry
- Buying metals from Rio Grande, a company that makes its products
from recovered silver and uses super-efficient, low-waste manufacturing
processes
- Recycling and reusing around the workshop (we reuse everything,
from paper to bags and storage containers)
- Including reusable mill-cloth bags with our orders, instead
of paper or plastic bags
- Making environmentally healthy choices in materials (For example,
for our screen-printed wood earrings, we chose acrylic ink instead
of plastic ink, which is more toxic and environmentally harmful.)
- Reducing our eco-footprint is a constant process, and we continually
look for ways to make Early Jewelry even more Earth friendly.
